Student Midwives

Aspen Roots Midwifery is a teaching practice. Students are a vital part of our team and are present in both clinic and birth settings. Their participation allows us to offer more hands, more attention, and more support for families. Students are always supervised and work closely with me in a collaborative way, and because of how our practice is structured, opting out of student involvement is not an option. We find that families benefit from the extra presence and energy students bring, and many enjoy being part of the process of training future midwives.

Elizabeth Vitry
Elizabeth has been with Aspen Roots Midwifery since the end of 2022. As of mid-2025, she has completed all requirements to sit for her board exams with the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). She will continue assisting at births while preparing for her boards, and once she receives her Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential, she plans to open her own midwifery practice.

Audria Munn
Audria recently began her primary level as a student midwife and is working toward her NARM requirements in partnership with Aspen Roots and another local midwife. She brings a wealth of life experience as a mother of eight children and as a nurse in a local hospital (outside of labor and delivery). Because of her many responsibilities, Audria participates part-time in the clinic and attends most births with our team.
